I've been working freelance since spring 2015, and my current clients include Bonnier, Carlton and Egmont.
Before that, I was a Commissioning Editor at one of the imprints that have now merged to form Hachette Children's Books, plus I've worked in-house for Penguin, HarperCollins, Carlton, Egmont and Titan. Plenty of experience!
As an author I've written various books for those same companies - see my portfolio page.
Outside of my work in publishing, I spend quite a lot of time reading. At time of writing I have Dr Zhivago, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Lost Tales (J.R.R. Tolkien) and Rooftoppers on the go. My central London flat is full of books, although some space is given over to my collection of hippos, a tribe of Cabbage Patch Kids, and even my boyfriend.
I'm particularly interested in the history of the Soviet Union, and once translated War and Peace for fun. I am among the 50% of the female population who thinks Benedict Cumberbatch's hairstyle in the BBC's Sherlock TV series is one of the high points of world culture.
BA English (St. John's, Oxford)
MA Contemporary Cultural Processes (Goldsmiths, London)
MA Russian Studies (UCL, London)
In other words, I am a bamama.
